TCS Partners with ITDG to Launch ITDG Online

TCS congratulates the ITDG group on the launch of ITDG Online.  From concept, to design, to build, to Beta, to launch, ITDG has proven to be an innovative, forward thinking TCS partner.    This intranet is what ITDG calls a “game changer” and the technology behind ITDG Online is the backbone of data integration.   TCS looks forward to the growth of this technology and the group’s next step with ITDG Online.

ITDG Press Release 2-21-2012:

“The Independent Tire Dealers Group, LLC (ITDG) has launched a new ITDG Online intranet program allowing their members to access inventories of select members in different geographies across the country and order tires at the same time.”

Edward Long, vice president of sales and marketing of the Independent Tire Dealers Group stated that this new online tool and initiative will help the group capture additional purchases that are currently made from suppliers outside of the ITDG program. Current ITDG supplier purchases will grow concurrently with incremental throughput at additional ITDG member locations.

Edward Long, vice president of sales and marketing stated, “Over the past nine years, ITDG has succeeded in growing purchases through current members, adding new members as well as adding new vendor programs resulting in continued top line and bottom line growth for the group year over year. Our challenge is to continue this trend with a similar strategy to increase in-house share at existing locations by reducing member purchases from non-participating suppliers and continue to grow membership with value added programs for the independent tire dealer. We have also taken steps to tighten up our supply programs to help group members focus more purchases to those suppliers with national reach and scope.”

ITDG Online has been a collaborative member effort that began over a year ago and was lead by ITDG member and stockholder Clayton Miller at Mainstreet Tire USA in Colorado Springs, CO. Mr. Miller worked closely with ITDG members and the software development company to create a straight forward online program that is easy to use and understand. The program includes free local delivery when purchasing from a priority warehouse located in a member’s general area. ITDG Online will also calculate freight rates via FedEx Ground on small quantities and also calculate freight for LTL loads for larger quantities – all with a simple click of your computer mouse.

Clayton Miller, owner of Mainstreet Tire USA remarked “ITDG online gives me more ways to communicate and work with my fellow members and grow my purchases through the group. It means added volume-bonus and dividends at the end of the year for the members and also helps us become even more important to our suppliers with the ability to touch more ITDG members. Everybody wins in this scenario.”

ITDG began using the online software by beta testing with a few members last year and introduced the program to all members in the past few weeks.

“ITDG Online gives our members another option for buying two or four tires at a time inside the group regardless of their geography….” says Long…..“and we already have members buying larger quantities that would have escaped the group last year. We have just begun to cultivate these capabilities that have been in the marketplace for many years. Our members are familiar with these types of programs; and coupled with the historical advantages of the ITDG program – our opportunities are boundless.”

The Independent Tire Dealers Group currently represents over 350 independent tire and auto service locations in 27 states

tcs-tire-company-mobileTCS Technologies, software and technology provider for the tire, automotive, and retread industry, announces the launch of mobile versions of their client’s retail websites and web applications; allowing easy access to the dealer’s website from a smartphone or tablet device.  These mobile sites incorporate the main site’s content, yet emphasize the “go to” features consumers are accessing when surfing from their smartphone.

TCS decided to produce the mobile sites after research uncovered large numbers of tire and service consumers regularly use a mobile device to research local information about dealers, discount/savings opportunities and tire and service information in general.  “We have closely watched the rapid growth of smartphone users accessing our dealer’s websites.  On average 13% of visits to our retail tire and service websites are coming from a mobile device, with many sites topping out at 20-24%.” stated Marek Cerny, Product Manager of TCS’s retail web applications.  In a recent study by Neilsen, as of Q4 2011, 46% of US mobile consumers had smartphones, and that figure is growing quickly. Mr. Cerny continued, “As we follow tire and consumer behavior on our sites we find the results in line with other industries who report consumers are mostly using a smartphone to find local information about the dealer, or in response to a local ad or promotion.”

TCS’s mobile optimized sites are automated, yet give the dealer control over the content presented on the mobile version of their website.  Dealers were asking for control to be able to present special marketing messages to consumers like, “Use your mobile device to present one of the savings listed below.”  However, they also wanted the content from the website to auto-populate to their mobile optimized site.  TCS mobile sites provide both automated and dealer generated content delivery to each smartphone friendly web page.
